If Week 0 was any indication for what's in store, this college football season could down as one of the greatest ever.
Even though we only received a limited sampling of games, it was more than enough to prepare for the upcoming Week 1 fiesta.
So without any further ado, here's a recap of what we learned from this inaugural week of the 2024 season.
What Did We Learn From Week 0?
Following their shock loss to Georgia Tech, Mike Norvell and the Florida State Seminoles may have a difficult season ahead. What is most troubling is that quarterback DJ Uiagalelei performed poorly in his debut. Norvell will eventually have to determine if Uiagalelei is the right one. Georgia Tech, on the other hand, has the potential to excel this season if Haynes King can keep his turnovers under control.
Credit to Nevada for putting forth their best effort. At the end of the day, SMU has Preston Stone, who came up big when it mattered and helped guide their team to victory after being down 13-0. Stone aside, RJ Maryland is going to make a serious case for the nation's top tight end after his performance.
Adam Jones and Scottre Humphrey rushed for 307 yards and two touchdowns as Montana State defeated New Mexico in a dramatic comeback. If it's any consolation for The Lobos, they have a budding star in Gabriel Lopez. Don't be surprised if you see Lopez in the NFL someday.
Florida A&M pulled out a big victory over Norfolk State in this year's MEAC/SWAC Challenge. That said, the Spartans have a special player in running back Kevon King, who finished with 146 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
