Guess what, ladies and gentlemen? College football is BACK!
No matter the week, every day is a good day for college football. Even in Week 0, we were treated to games for the first time since January.
As we do each year, we give a rundown of the events that took place as well as the top performers of the week that was.
So, what did we learn from Week 0?
The Sam Hartman era in Notre Dame was in full swing against Navy in Dublin Ireland. Credit to the Midshipmen for putting up a valiant effort. In the end, Hartman and co were too much as the Irish begin their season with a bang!
In their first ever FBS game, Jacksonville State's defense came flying and relegated the UTEP offense to just 14 points, collecting their first win in the new era.
After an unimpressive showing in the first half, USC finally woke up in the second half and dominated a resilient San Jose State team (Tre Smith is an impressive player). All we can say is that the Trojans are extremely talented (e.g., Zachariah Branch) and that they have Caleb Williams, the engine that makes the entire team run. If one thing needs to be said, their chances of contending will depend on their defense. Then again, it's Lincoln Riley.
Credit to Vanderbilt and Hawaii for playing a competitive game despite a long delay due to lightning. Both quarterbacks put on a show, but in the end, the Commodores came out on top.
The Jackson State Tigers started the post-Coach Prime era the right way by shutting out the South Carolina Bulls.
The last thing the Ohio Bobcats needed was their quarterback Kurtis Rourke to get injured, which unfortunately happened in their loss to the San Diego State Aztecs.
