For the most part, football analysts have mocked the Pittsburgh Steelers to some of the top right tackle prospects in this year's draft class.
Will Brinson of CBS Sports had the team pick Georgia lineman Amarius Mims in his mock selection from last week. This week, Josh Edwards has the Steelers selecting a tackle with the 20th overall pick; this time it's Alabama's JC Lathum. However, according to Edwards' analysis, the Steelers still require an inside offensive lineman.
"JC Latham is great value at this stage of the first round and his presence allows Broderick Jones to flip back to the left side. They could still use an interior offensive lineman at some point."
Considering how guards Isaac Seumalo and James Daniels have performed on their respective sides, it is unlikely they will be addressing the interior offensive line in this year's class. What should also be noted is that they have Spencer Anderson, their seventh-round pick from last year, and Nate Herbig as depth behind them.
When it comes to the right tackle position, the Steelers have held top-30 visits with two: Mims and Taliese Fuaga out of Oregon State. If Lathum is eventually invited for a visit, then he would be added to the mix of potential picks by the team in the first round.
