This off-season, the Pittsburgh Steelers may not need to look far to find their next great receiver.

During his interview this morning on the "Up And Adams Show" with Kay Adams, Davante expressed his strong desire to play for Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin if the opportunity arises.

Considering the substantial fan and media backlash Tomlin has faced since losing their fifth consecutive playoff game this past Saturday to the Baltimore Ravens, the news of a high-level receiver wanting to play for the team could serve as a much-needed boost of morale as they begin the long process of renovating their organization following a disappointing season.

Back in October, the team inquired about a potential trade for Davante when he was a member of the Las Vegas Raiders. At that time, he expressed his preference to play with either Derek Carr of the New Orleans Saints or Aaron Rodgers of the New York Jets, two quarterbacks he was familiar with throughout his playing career. Davante ultimately chose the Jets, but the duo had little success in elevating the team, finishing the season with a disappointing 5-12 record and missing the postseason.

Davante finished the season with 854 receiving yards on 67 receptions and seven touchdowns between his time with the Raiders and Jets. Considering the team's need for a big-play receiver and the possibility of moving on from George Pickens, Davante represents the exact type of player they need. The only potential obstacle would be his massive contract, as he is slated to make a base salary of over $35 million for the next two seasons.

The three-time first-team All-Pro has accumulated 11,844 yards on 957 receptions and 71 touchdowns during his accomplished career.
