Player Description

Name: Kenneth Grant

School: Michigan

Position: Defensive tackle

Class: Junior

Height: 6'3

Weight: 339 lbs

Draft Projection: Late Day 1 to Mid Day 2

Strengths:

  • Exceptional athlete

  • High-effort player

  • Quick and explosive first step

  • Overwhelming brute strength

  • Unique closing speed for his size

  • Strong and heavy hands

  • Legitimate pursuit speed

  • Versatile pass rusher and run defender

  • Anchors effectively on double teams

  • Uses his size to close gaps

  • Possesses a variety of moves and counters

  • Disengages effectively from blocks

  • Able to knife into gaps and get into opposing backfields

  • Good understanding of hand placement

Weaknesses:

The biggest concern with Grant relates to his endurance. Though he can play in spurts, his ability to take a larger number of snaps is questionable due to issues with stamina. As a pass rusher, Grant tends to keep his pad level high, which often results in him losing balance in one-on-one battles.

In general, Grant is capable of effectively disengaging from blocks, but occasionally, he doesn't utilize his length to extend and create separation against opposing linemen. As a consequence, Grant can often find himself out of position to make plays against the run.
