No question, it was a heartbreaking loss for the Pittsburgh Steelers, who fell late in the game against the Dallas Cowboys. What was even more concerning was the performance on both sides of the ball.
-Offense-
After a career game in Week 5, quarterback Justin Fields struggled to find his targets and get the offense running until late in the game. He finished with 158 total yards and two passing touchdowns. Despite not being at his best, he only dropped to 8th among quarterbacks with 89.6 fantasy points.
The most disappointing performance this week was receiver George Pickens, who saw a dramatic decrease in snaps and gained more attention for his antics than his play on the field. After finishing the game with just 26 receiving yards on three receptions, Pickens fell six spots to No. 38 among receivers with 51.0 fantasy points. His teammate, Van Jefferson, had the same output but remains outside the top 100 at his position.
Tight end Pat Freiermuth registered his second touchdown of the season, along with 22 receiving yards on three receptions. This week, he dropped two spots to No. 7 among tight ends with 47.8 fantasy points. Given how reliable he has been, expect him to stay in the top 10 for a while.
Running back Najee Harris had another disappointing performance on the ground (14 carries for 42 yards) but proved valuable as a pass catcher when needed, finishing with 35 yards on two receptions. He fell only two spots to No. 30 among running backs with 50.9 fantasy points.
- Defense -
The highlight of the game was All-Pro linebacker T.J. Watt, who became the second-fastest player in NFL history to register 100 career sacks. He was his usual game-breaking self, finishing with eight tackles, 1.5 sacks, a forced fumble, and three quarterback hits. After a poor outing last week against the Colts, Watt exploded up the rankings, moving up 13 spots to 8th among linebackers with 52.6 fantasy points. His partner-in-crime, Nick Herbig, proved to be just as impactful, finishing with half a sack, two tackles (one for a loss), and a quarterback hit. For his efforts, he moved up 11 spots to No. 77 with 26.1 fantasy points.
Though his performance on Sunday had its fair share of struggles, cornerback Donte Jackson settled in and collected his second interception of the season, along with four tackles. Jackson's stock stays steady at No. 83 among defensive backs with 25.0 fantasy points. Speaking of interceptions, Joey Porter Jr. collected his first one of the season along with four tackles and a pass deflection. Considering how Porter Jr. hasn't been targeted much (and for good reason), he has yet to crack the top 100 among defensive backs. That said, expect his stock to continue increasing.
On the defensive line, the ageless wonder Cameron Heyward didn't collect any sacks but finished with four tackles and a quarterback hit. As a result, he moved down only one spot to No. 13 among defensive linemen with 32.2 fantasy points. Last week's highest mover, Larry Ogunjobi, was not nearly as impactful this week, registering one tackle for loss against the Cowboys. He moved down 16 spots to 73rd among defensive linemen with 17.4 fantasy points.
