Jaylen Warren had an uncharacteristically slow day, finishing with just five rushing yards. He fell eight spots to No. 51 with 13.2 fantasy points.
One of the biggest fantasy movers for the Steelers was quarterback Justin Fields, who put together his best performance of the season so far. His efficiency was evident in the second half as he completed passes to various receivers. He finished the day with 25 completions for 245 yards and two total touchdowns (one passing, one rushing). For his efforts, Fields moved up four spots to No. 18 among quarterbacks with 41.7 fantasy points.
-Defense-
The Steelers’ defense continues to demonstrate why they are among the elite units in the NFL. To put their performance into perspective, they allowed -5 total yards in the second half and held the Chargers to only 10 points.
The biggest story on this side of the ball was the emergence of linebacker Nick Herbig. With Alex Highsmith leaving the game after re-aggravating a groin injury, Herbig took full advantage of the opportunity and registered two sacks, two tackles for loss, and two quarterback hits. For his performance, he moved up to the 73rd spot among linebackers with 16.5 fantasy points.
All-Pro linebacker T.J. Watt gave rookie tackle Joe Alt all sorts of headaches during the game, finishing with a sack, three tackles, and two quarterback hits. For another stellar performance, he moved up three spots to No. 7 among linebackers with 33.0 fantasy points. Linebacker Patrick Queen moved down to the 85th spot with 13.5 fantasy points after finishing with eight total tackles and a pass deflection.
The ageless wonder, Cameron Heyward, continues to improve with each game. Against the Chargers on Sunday, he was a force on the interior, making impressive run stops. He finished the game with a sack, two tackles for loss, and a quarterback hit. As expected, he was the team’s highest mover, going up 27 spots to No. 23 among defensive linemen with 17.5 fantasy points. The only other notable interior defensive lineman was Larry Ogunjobi, who finished with three tackles and fell to the 143rd spot with 8.3 fantasy points.
