2024 Steelers Training Camp - Day 12 Recap

As their first preseason game approaches, the Steelers had a healthy contingent of players that took the first for their 12th camp practice.

Today's training camp storylines include a consistently productive running back and George Pickens doing George Pickens things.

So, Steelers fans, let's go

Injury Report

Both linebackers, Kyron Johnson and Jeremiah Moon, were back in pads after missing a few days with separate injuries. Veteran linebacker Markus Golden did not participate in today's practice, likely given the day off. In the case of defensive lineman DeMarvin Leal, he was seen with sleeve on his right leg but was able to participate in today's session.

The biggest story involved safety DeShon Elliott, who was eventually carted off due to a leg injury sustained during one of the team sessions. Per reports, he came back limping in full uniform.

Steelers Camp Day 12 Recap

Harris Continues To Perform At A High Level

At this point, we have lost track of how many touchdowns running back Najee Harris has scored since the first day of Steelers training camp. We know he's been one of their most consistent performers. During the "seven shots" section, he ran for another touchdown. During the team drills, he was able to break long runs and demonstrate his improved vision and quickness.

Pickens Doing Alien Things

At this point, we shouldn't be surprised whenever receiver George Pickens does something spectacular, as it seems to be routine for him. Today, it was a one-handed grab that got everyone's attention.

Freiermuth Continues To Make Plays

Aside from Pickens, tight end Pat Freiermuth has been one of Justin Fields' most consistent targets at this year's training camp. From what we've seen, Freiermuth is poised for a big season under Arthur Smith's new offensive. In today's session, he made an impressive reception during one of the team sessions.
